Subteams: offices, divisions and cost centers

Split your team into subteams with a manager and a cost center. A subteam manager sees the leads of their people, and the contact export shows the subteam for every lead.

When your company has offices, divisions or several sales groups, split the team into subteams. Each subteam has a name, managers, members and an optional cost center.

Subteams are part of the Teams plan. Only a team admin can create and edit them.

#Create a subteam

  1. On dash.swopi.co, open Team in the left menu, then Subteams.
  2. Click New subteam.
  3. Enter a name, for example "Sales Munich", and a cost center if you use one.
  4. Choose the Managers and the Members. Managers are added to the members automatically.
  5. Click Create.

A person can be in one subteam only. When you pick someone who is already in another subteam, you see "now in …" next to the name, and saving moves them to this subteam.

#What a subteam manager sees

  • In Contacts, they see the leads of every member of their subteam, even as a regular team member.
  • They can view and export those leads. Only the owner, a manager or an admin can edit someone else's lead.
  • When your company has Share contacts across the team turned on, everyone sees everything as before.

Company admins and managers see the leads of the whole company. They open the leads of one subteam from the Subteams page with Subteam leads.

#Cost center

The cost center is free text, for example "CC-4100". When you export contacts to CSV, every lead gets two extra columns: Subteam and Cost center, based on who captured the lead.

#Delete a subteam

Click the trash icon on the subteam and confirm. People stay in the company with their leads. They only leave the subteam.

#Questions

Does a subteam manager see the leads in the mobile app too? In the dashboard for now. In the app they see their own leads, and the team's leads when contact sharing is on.

Does everyone have to be in a subteam? No. The Subteams page shows how many people are not in a subteam.
