Event Mode is made for trade fairs and conferences. The screen shows only a big QR code of your card and a button to scan contacts.
#How to turn on Event Mode
- Open the Cards tab.
- Tap the round icon at the top left, next to the card name.
- A big QR code of your card appears. The screen brightness goes up on its own, so the code is easy to scan.
To close Event Mode, tap the cross at the top right.
#Event name
- At the top left, tap Event: Add name.
- Type a name, for example Web Summit 2026, and tap Save.
Every contact you scan in Event Mode gets this name in the Where we met field. To change the name, tap the same button. To remove it, tap Clear event name.
#Scan contacts one after another
- Tap Open Scanner.
- Scan a business card, badge or QR code and save the contact.
- The scanner stays open and ready for the next contact.
Outside Event Mode, the app takes you to Contacts after you save. In Event Mode, you can scan one person after another. To learn how to scan badges, read Event badge scanner.
#Contact counter on iPhone
On iPhone, the Dynamic Island and the lock screen show how many contacts you have collected at the event. You can also open the scanner from there with one tap. The counter starts from zero each time you open Event Mode.
For the counter to work, Live Activity must be on in Settings. Read more in Widget and Dynamic Island.
